"A big obstacle is how Syracuse is perceived in the minds of young people. Syracuse needs an identity." - Attendee from 40 Below's 2004 Summit

logoGrowing out of the former Marketing & Communications Task Force, the Syracuse branding campaign - Live it. Love it. It's All Here. - is a retention campaign aimed at younger professionals with the goals of instilling a sense of pride in current residents and creating an unified identity for the region. It is a multi-media branding campaign, which includes ItsAllHereSyracuse.com. The brand was launched through guerilla marketing at festivals in the summer of 2006 and has continued into a multi-media branding campaign (TV, radio, Internet and press).

40 Below Announces Launch of "It's All Here Street Team" Program with Recognition Event Featuring New York State Senator John A. DeFrancisco

40+ Community Members Selected to Become Part of the Inaugural Class of "It's All Here Street Team"

Syracuse, NY, July 21st, 2008 - 40 Below, a volunteer based, young adult, civic minded organization, announces the launch of the first class of their "It's All Here Street Team."

Over 40 representatives that embody the best and brightest our community has to offer were chosen to spread the word about why it's all here in Syracuse, NY. The "It's All Here Street Team" members were selected from more than 400 responses to an online survey that was advertised in April of this year.

"I am proud to support 40 Below and the volunteers of the 'It's All Here Street Team' in their efforts to improve the perceptions of our community," said Senator John A. DeFrancisco, one of the major sponsors for the initiative. "I am confident that the program will help to educate individuals about our abundant resources, events in our community and business opportunities, which will ultimately encourage more young
professionals to remain in our area."

Senator DeFrancisco will serve as the featured speaker during the recognition and networking reception for the Street Team on July 25th. The reception, which starts at 5pm at Ambrosia in Armory Square, is open to the public; however a RSVP is required to celliott@40belowsummit.com.

Started in 2006, the goals of the "Syracuse: Live it. Love it. It's All Here." campaign include retaining young talent, increasing pride within the community and creating a sense of self-esteem in the residents of the Greater Syracuse area.

"The Street Team program will enhance the existing elements of the multi-media 'It's All Here' campaign through personal interactions and monthly events at diverse venues from our well known attractions to our hidden gems," said 40 Below's Marketing and Communications Co-Chair, Nichole Wenderlich. "The role of our Street Team members will largely be to help promote the efforts or programming of existing organizations, while cross promoting 'It's All Here' and 40 Below. Tapping into those connections is essential to strengthen the program."

Congratulations to the members of the first ever "It's All Here Street Team!"

Volunteer Opportunities

If you or someone you know can help with any of the volunteer needs, please contact the Task Force chairs at info@itsallheresyracuse.com.

It's All Here is currently in need of:

Feature Writers/Editors

Do you like to write or edit? Do you have a knack for knowing what is going on in Syracuse? Then we need you! ItsAllHereSyracuse.com is made up of first person features and it needs constant new content to stay fresh.

To this end, we are looking for an editor for each of the six feature sections - arts, nightlife, outdoor & recreation, home & family, good eatin' and careers & technology - to ensure that new content is added, hopefully on a weekly basis. Editors will receive administrative rights to the site to be able to upload their features to their sections.

To assist the editors, we also need numerous feature writers for each section, who will provide the editor their features.

Community Ambassadors

To complete our ultimate goal of community adoption of the Syracuse branding campaign we need lots of spokes people! By being a community ambassador of the It's All Here Syracuse branding campaign, you will "talk up" the campaign to folks in Syracuse - to your employer, to your friends, to vendors - basically to anyone who will listen! We will arm you with the goodie packets and "fast facts" on the branding campaign, but the role of the community ambassador is really to lay the ground work for a more in depth discussion via presentation by the project chairs.

Web Designers

We have a constant need for folks who are skilled in web design - especially PHP and the CMS "Drupal 5.0."

Meetings

Campaign meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 at the offices of Eric Mower & Associates (EMA): 500 Plum St., unless otherwise noted. There is no minimum time commitment required for involvement; we welcome new volunteers and ideas!

*Note: This month's meeting will be Thursday, July 17th at 5:30 at the MDA offices, in the 18th floor conference room.
